Getting Started

No Experience Necessary invites you to come as you are.

Invite

Tell others about the series by showing the No Experience Necessary: Everybody's Welcome Intro VHS or DVD (Augsburg Fortress, 2005) before or after worship services or at a special meeting. Let people know when and where your group is meeting and invite them to join.

Pray

Pray for the group and your leadership.

Prepare

Read each session (including the main Bible passage and "Group Tips") ahead of time. Find a relaxed and inviting place for your group to meet. For a "kickoff" meeting or your first session, be ready to show the introductory VHS or DVD.

Welcome

Greet all as they arrive. Make sure everyone is included in the discussion and knows she or he is important to the group.

Encourage

Help move the discussion along and give everybody a chance to contribute. Have the group decide how long you will meet, whether to rotate leadership, what articles to read and discuss, and when to talk about the book No Experience Necessary: Everybody's Welcome (Augsburg Fortress, 2005).

Delegate

Don't do it all. Invite group members to pray, read, choose what to do next, bring refreshments, and so on.
